About Training

Geoinformatics encompasses multiple disciplines viz. GIS, remote sensing, geodesy, GPS and cartography. It has tremendous utility and applications in decisions involving locational data, or data with spatial dimensions. It deals with both spatial and non-spatial data. It covers all aspects of spatial and non-spatial data management like acquisition, storage, manipulation, analysis, display and modelling etc. Applications of geoinformatics are mainly oriented to real world management problems pertaining to natural as well as man-made environments.

Who can Apply?

Students: Graduate and post graduate students from any discipline can apply.
Professionals: State government employees working in the field of water resource management, forestry, land resource management, mining, disaster management. Others professionals working in the private sector may also apply.
Students pursuing their Graduation and Post-Graduation courses may also apply and can pursue it as an add-on skill development.

Training Timing: 3pm-6pm (Tuesday to Friday)

Training Fees: 35,000/- (Thirty Five Thousand) Payable in two instalments

Lab Computers

There are 30 computers in the GIS Lab where each trainee can work exclusively on his/her computer.

GIS Software

All the system are updated with latest versions of softwares like Arc GIS, ERDAS-Imagine, Geomedia, ENVI, I-GIS and Q-GIS.


XISS has got a fully air-conditioned with Wi-Fi internet facility and well-equipped GIS and RS Laboratory.


Trainees will be given a certificate of accomplishment after successful completion of the training.
