Abstract: The study explores and investigates the statistical understanding of unpaid care work, conceptualized with the gender inequality, monetary valuation of care work and its consequences on women’s lives. Empirical evidences collected through primary field data with the help of Time Use Survey, obtained from varied groups of female caregivers (n = 120) in the province of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Through examination of the intricate nature of unpaid care work and time allocation pattern, findings reveal the complex burden of care work and remarkable inequality with a gender perspective. The estimated monetary valuation of time and disguised labor input to care work signifies the substantial wage of care labor; significant economic contribution of women accruing to the economy and its constructive effects on women’s well-being.
