A Technical Session on XISS Library Resources held for HRM Programme

The library orientation program for faculty members of the Human Resource Management (HRM) Programme was successfully conducted on 5 July 2022 in the campus. At the outset, Dr Shyamal Gomes, Head of Programme (HoP), HRM welcomed the participants and resource person. He also suggested all the participants to share their expectations from this technical session on ‘XISS Library Resources’.

The hands-on session was very interactive and informative to all members. They got acquainted with the latest tools and techniques to access the resources. They also got knowledge about the current research trends like how to create automatically the citation references, how to read the contents offline as well as online mode. Methods of how to customize the search to get the relevant result in very less time, how to share the document through google classroom, ways to personalize and save the searched result by creating a folder, and how to export and save citations in different file format were discussed during the session.

The resource person Ms Shamida, Lakra, Assistant Librarian clearly discussed and compared the subscribed Sage Business Cases with teaching notes to different other platforms Emerald, EBSCO, NDL (National Digital Library of India) etc. Many suggestions came from the faculty members for collection and development of services. Dr RK Agrawal suggested that HRM Programme can also subscribe to Labour Law Reporter for multi-purposes. He also suggested to all use learning activities (NDL) for organizing the events in XISS. He also pointed out that for research improvement we need data-base for the Economy like EPW-Database (Research Foundation) and CMIE Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy. The session was appreciated by everyone and Dr Indrani Ghatak proposed the vote of thanks.
