XISS celebrated ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, celebrated the spirit of patriotism by hoisting the national flag and commemorating the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign on August 13, in the campus. “Har Ghar Tiranga” is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate the 75 years of glorious history of her people, culture and achievements.

Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, in his speech, addressed that the nectar of life and essence of independence is passed on to us by our forefathers as a legacy. He said that it is the celebration of the freedom given to us by not only our leaders but by all those who dreamt about Independent India. Hence, we with gratitude and thankfulness remember those who made supreme sacrifices for our sake.

Dr Amar Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, highlighted the undying efforts by the people of India to gain their freedom from foreign rule and honour the freedom fighters. He stated that this day is an opportunity for us to work together to strengthen our institution, society and nation. He also said that we need to work hard with sincerity to make our ancestors proud of who we are today as a nation. The event was decked by Independence Day thematic posters prepared by Clubs Creategic and Obscura with trending hashtags of the campaign. Faculty, Staff and Students of Institute participated in the event which concluded with the National Anthem.
