Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management (IiPM), the apex Learning & Development Center of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) along with Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi and Indian Management Association (IMA), Haldia conducted 11 days (10-20January 2022) Functional & Developmental Programmes for 35 Senior Level Executives called MADHYAMA-1. This is a mid-career mandatory training program, specially designed for officers who have completed 12 years of services in the Corporation (Refineries, Marketing and Administrative offices) in the officer cadre. Through Madhyama-1, the participants’ get an opportunity and are exposed to several functional areas with cross-functional knowledge as well as behavioural inputs to enhance their soft skills for competency building. In different regions in India, IiPM has exquisitely crafted MADHYAMA – 1 programme by the academic experts from IIM-Ahmadabad, XLRI-Jamshedpur, IIM Kolkata etc. and SMEs from Indian Oil. This time they have chosen XISS, Ranchi as knowledge partners (KPs) for behavioural inputs in the eastern region. The entire programme was organized by Indian Management Association (IMA), Haldia and coordinated by Dr Shyamal Gomes, Professor, XISS.  

Total 11 days programme which has been functional modules by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from Indian Oil and last 3 & 1/4 day (13, 14, 17 and 18 January 2022) for the behavioural module done by the KP- XISS. All together XISS got 13 sessions (4 sessions per day @ 90 minutes) for the selected topics like Influencing skills, Art of Communication and Negotiation, Business Etiquette and its impact on business, Business and Individual Ethics, Customer Delight-the ultimate goal, Emerging Trend 4.0 Industry, Key statutory regulations: A must know (e.g. RTI, POSH, SC/ST act etc. and My Role in Organizational Success.

From the Institute, Dr R.K.Agrawal, HoP, Human Resource Management Programme along with Dr Shyamal Gomes, Dr Indrani Ghatak, Dr Kumar Mohit Spring and Dr. Mrityunjoy Roy from the same programme, while Dr Raj Shree Verma, Assistant Professor, Rural Management Programme have delivered their brilliant inputs in the above-mentioned topics. Mr Sanjay Dua from DUA’s Knowledge Potli, Ranchi also delivered his brilliant input on Communication and Negotiation. According to IMA Haldia, in view of participants’ feedback on various sessions conducted by XISS, the overall ratings are 95-99%.
