ABSTRACT:

Education and social development run together. Society develops if it is educated, and in the same way society invests in education if it develops. Our every national document and national policies have shown concern for social development. Our present national education policy (2020) deals with the social dimension of education in a more comprehensive manner, and in the process through four chapters (6,14,21 & 26) it talks about social aspects in educational terms. It focuses on access and inclusion in education and recommends for special consideration for the education of the deprived and marginalised people. Besides equity and equality in educational it reflects the need for special attention to the education of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) including SCs, STs, OBCs, Women, Differently Abled, etc. It recommends to more public investment to attain Social and Educational Inclusion – the key to Social and National Development.
