XISS and UNICEF, Jharkhand have partnered to support efforts of the government to promote Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), full coverage of Covid vaccination, strengthening SBCC in RMNCH+A and JJM. To support this 14 SBCC-DPCs are working with respective district administrations in need-based planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of communication intervention for eleven months.
India’s Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) strategy is unique as it recognised the fact that maternal and child health cannot be improved in isolation and need to be effectively weaved with adolescent, family planning and nutrition-based interventions. The ‘Plus’ within the strategy focused on a continuum of care with linkages between the interventions targeted at various stages of the life cycle from newborn to the reproductive age, with a focus on adolescence as a distinct life stage.
