About us

The Music Association of XISS (MAXISS) was founded in 2009 by a group of talented students from the 2009-11 batch. The founding student members included Rajendra Ekka (bass guitarist & drummer), Clifford Samuel (lead guitarist), Abhishek Chakrabarti (rhythm guitarist), and Tausif Latif (vocalist), among others.

With the generous support of Dr Alexius Ekka SJ, Former Director of XISS, the association received funding to acquire the instruments needed to form a complete band. Since then, MAXISS has thrived, bringing together passionate musicians year after year. Over the past decade, it has become an integral part of the institute, consistently delivering electrifying performances at the Annual Fest and other events, leaving a lasting impact on students and music enthusiasts alike.

Our Aim & Objectives

• To add value to the institute by fostering a community of students with a deep passion for music and creativity.
• To discover, nurture, and provide a platform for students to showcase their musical talent.
• To encourage artistic expression and collaboration, enriching the cultural landscape of XISS.
