Feast Day celebrated at XISS

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, celebrated the feast of its patron St Francis Xavier at the Michael Von den Bogaert Auditorium. The Feast Day was attended by the Faculty, Staff, and Students which was organised by XISS to honour and recall the devoted service of St Francis Xavier and his vision to spread faith and engage in missionary activities across Europe and Asia.

The programme commenced with the welcome of Chairman, XISS, Fr Ajit Xess SJ along with Assistant Director, XISS, Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Fr Claber Minz, Fr Samir Bhwnra from XISS, Fr Medad Xalxo, and Fr Swarna Tigga who presided over the function. The mass began with the readings from the Bible by Fr Ajit Xess, who prayed for the well-being of entire XISS family.

Earlier, they were welcomed with an entrance dance followed by the commencement of the service where all remembered the Patron Saint of XISS. Faculty members along with Staff and their family members and Students attended the ceremonial service. The event was followed up by a short cultural programme that showcased the robust cultural heritage of Jharkhand with folk dance.

Marking an end with the teachings of Jesus Christ that faith emphasizes love, compassion, and service. A short address was made to the XISS Family followed up by the blessing and cutting of cake.
