Human Resource Management Students (Batch 2022-24) complete their Industrial Tour successfully

Industrial Tour is an integral part of Human Resource Management (HRM) Programme curriculum. From 7-15 October 2023, the entire class of HRM (Batch 2022-24) was on their Industrial Tour / Visit to Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru along with the mentors Dr Shyamal Gomes, Dr Kumar Mohit Spring, Dr Binit Lakra, and Fr Claber Minj. This time the four teams completed their tour with the following  prestigious organizations namely Ziqitza Healthcare Limited, UPL Limited, Aditya Birla Capital, National Stock Exchange, Yes Bank, Tata Sons, HDFC Bank, Reserve Bank of India Museum, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Alkem Laboratories Limited, Larsen & Toubro Construction, DCB, Ultratech Cement, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Siemens, Godrej, SAP, LAM Research, Raymond, Enable India, VMware, Mylan, Hexaware, Airbus, Big Basket, Flipkart, Reliance Retail, Voltas, Jio, L&T Minerals, Castrol, Star Cement, Air India, Bandhan Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Coal India Ltd., Samsung, Tata Metaliks, Tata Hitachi, Adani Wilmar, Hindustan Unilever, Gainwell, Pepsico, ITC, Exide, and West Bengal State Electricity Board.

During this Industrial Tour the students learnt to be grounded as an HR professional and that they must always respect and listen to people. The role of the HR Department was discussed with them in detail and that it contributes towards organizational growth, keeps the interests of shareholders and stakeholders, and gives higher returns to the organization. Moreover, the interactions with practicing managers and professionals give the students an insight to their professional lives ahead. Experienced corporate professionals interacted with the students which majorly emphasized on the requisite skills a HRM student needs. The interactions also highlighted the expectations of the industries from the budding managers and coping management skills with corporate culture. Students actively participated in each interaction through question-answer sessions.

For the students, the industrial visit was a transformative experience that blended classroom instruction with real-world industry exposure. All the students had a positive experience during the Alumni Meet held during these nine-ten days to wrap up the tour.
