Fresher’s Day marked a warm welcome for the new batch of 2025-27

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, hosted Fresher’s Day (6-11 August) for the new batch of 2025–27 across its Marketing Management, Financial Management, Rural Management, and Human Resource Management programmes. Held on separate days for each programme, the celebrations marked a warm and vibrant welcome for students embarking on their academic journey at XISS.
The events began with the lighting of the lamp and a welcome address by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, who reflected on XISS’s core values and vision. He emphasised on the values of belongingness and learning, reminding students that true success comes from embracing challenges, learning from failures, and cherishing what they have. He encouraged them to carry elegance, respect, and positivity throughout campus life and beyond.

Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, further welcomed the students, and highlighted the importance of aligning their attitude with the institute’s vision and mission. He stressed that XISS aims to guide students in living and portraying its values both professionally and personally.
The events were also attended by Dean Academics, Dr Amar Tigga along with Fr Ashok Kandulna, Finance Officer, Heads of all Programmes including, Dr Kumar Mohit Spring, Dr Anant Kumar, Dr Bhabani Mahapatra, and Dr Ratnesh Chaturvedi. Faculty members, staff, and the entire student community also whole heartedly participated in the celebrations over the days.

The celebrations included a series of fun and engaging events where students from both the years displayed an array of talents. Students showcased skits, gave high-energy dance routines, musical performances, spirited quiz contest, and the stylish ramp walks kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The second-year students played a pivotal role in organising the events, ensuring a warm, inclusive, and memorable welcome for the incoming batch.
