XISS & NISM sign LoU to foster industry aligned partnerships

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi and National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) for three years on the campus on 10 May 2025. XISS and NISM aim to establish a dynamic platform for academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and skill enhancement. The partnership opens avenues for faculty development, student training programs, curriculum enrichment, and research initiatives across AICTE and UGC-approved institutions in India.
With this partnership in action, advanced educational resources and industry-aligned initiatives will be promoted while capacity building for students and faculty through specialized training programs will also be organised for the evolving demands of the global market.
The LoU was signed by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS and Mr Subhayu Das, Assistant General Manager, NISM in the presence of Dr Amar Eron Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS and Dr Bhaskar Bhowani, Head, Financial Management Programme, XISS.
NISM is an institution established by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) with the objective of capacity building in the securities market. The securities market is a growing industry that offers ample opportunities for both employment and self-employment. Students aspiring to build careers in the financial markets would benefit greatly from studying securities market-related subjects. Hence, the primary objective of this LoU is to train students in these subjects and help them earn NISM certifications, thereby enhancing their knowledge and employability.
Under this LoU, NISM will offer its certification and e-learning programs as regular Certification Examinations, Skill-Oriented Courses, and Credit Courses for students. This collaboration will also enable XISS faculty to teach NISM courses, with NISM providing market related inputs and necessary training support.
NISM will also develop a dedicated portal or collaborate with a business and employment-focused social media platform to connect recruiters with XISS, thereby offering placement support to students who successfully complete NISM certifications. In addition, NISM will periodically conduct online Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and facilitate internship opportunities for students.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating market-relevant knowledge into management education and strengthening industry-academia linkages.
