XISS Ranchi and UNICEF Jharkhand join hands to strengthen child protection mechanisms in the state

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, in collaboration with UNICEF Jharkhand, has embarked on a strategic partnership aimed at providing technical support to district administrations for the convergence and enhancement of child protection mechanisms. The program named ‘Sampark’ will extend its assistance to districts including Deoghar, Dumka, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Koderma, Pakur, Palamu, West Singhbhum, and Sahibganj.

XISS, over the past three years, has been a pivotal force in supporting various administrative endeavours throughout the state. Its contributions have been instrumental in addressing critical challenges such as the COVID-19 Pandemic, Healthcare Initiatives, Jal Jeevan Mission Program, Measles and, Rubella Campaign.

This newly forged partnership will have a dedicated focus on eradicating child marriage and curbing violence against children. Through a collaborative effort, XISS and UNICEF Jharkhand aspire to create a safer and more nurturing environment for the children of Jharkhand.

Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director XISS, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration and stated that this partnership with UNICEF Jharkhand signifies our shared commitment towards protecting and promoting the rights of children. Together, we aim to achieve significant milestones in ending child marriage and violence against children, thereby fostering a brighter future for the youth of Jharkhand.

Dr Anant Kumar, Project Head added that at XISS we are committed to the betterment of the children in the state and enforcing a safe environment to grow and learn. XISS will place a dedicated, experienced, and knowledgeable human resource in the districts who will work in close synergy with all departments under the leadership of deputy commissioners.
