AAXISS Hyderabad Chapter organised panel discussion during the Alumni Meet 2024

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) and Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS), Hyderabad Chapter organised an Alumni Meet on 28September 2024. A panel discussion was also organised during this gathering where the alumni shared insightful experience fostering a sense of connection. The panel discussion was divided into two parts delving on topics ranging from “Cracking the campus interview to initial years as HR Professionals to having a fine balance between Career and wellbeing.

The moderator of the panel discussion was Mr Aaron Trevor DSouza, Head of Human Resources at Dr Reddy’s and Nestle Health Science Limited and Mr Sebin Thomas, HRBP at Oracle. The Panel members included Mr Jagjit Singh, Head, HUB and Countries Capability Learning Solutions at Novartis, Mr Deepu Minz, HR Professional, Ms Jyothsana Sharma, AVP Talent & Career Management at DBS Tech India, Ms Neha Sharma, Senior HRBP at Honeywell and Ms Swasti Pathak, Assistant Manager HR at ITC Limited. Along with the alumni, Assistant Professor, Dr Indrani Ghatak also attended the meet in Hyderabad.

The panelists offered valuable tips on cracking campus interviews, emphasizing the importance of preparation, confidence, and communication skills. The discussion emphasized on understanding the company culture and business acumen and how to effectively showcase both technical knowledge and soft skills during the interview process. Panelists encouraged students to focus on building their personal brand and to approach interviews with a mind-set of learning and adaptability.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of achieving a balance between career growth and personal well-being. Panelists shared personal anecdotes about managing work-life balance, coping with stress, and prioritizing mental health while climbing the corporate ladder. This enriching exchange of experiences provided attendees with actionable insights on career management and maintaining holistic well-being as they advance in their HR careers.

After the panel discussions, the evening transitioned into an exciting segment where both students and the alumni engaged in lively conversations, networking and enjoyed a delightful high tea to conclude this event.
