Online Digital Poster Making competition on occasion of International Year of Millets
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, held a Digital Poster Making Competition on the theme "Healthy Millets, Healthy People" to raise awareness among students about the advantages of millets and its many nutrients. As India is celebrating the International Year of Millets-2023, this event took place to promote the consumption of millets as part of a healthy diet to enhance overall well-being.
Director, Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ congratulated all the participants and emphasised on the importance of including millets in our everyday food for a healthy living. Aruna Tirkey, Founder, Ajam Emba, a restaurant promoting indigenous food and an esteemed alumnus of XISS, PGDM Rural Development, Batch 1997-99 was the judge of this event. She assessed the digital posters in this competition and said that millets are very healthy, have less carbon footprint and they are very climatic friendly with enormous health benefits.
The event got an overwhelming response where more than 40 students participated in the competition and came up with creative digital posters emphasizing the nutritional value of millet for healthy living. The students actively showcased their talents and creativity, they ensured eye catching design and visually appealing layout, included high-quality images of different millet varieties to highlight the agricultural aspect.
Mayank Khandelwal won the competition while Kushagra Singh and Anjali Gupta were the runners-up. The winning students were felicitated with attractive prizes and others received certificates of participation.
Dean Academics, Dr Amar E. Tigga was also present in this event along with the students.
