XISS celebrated Fresher’s Day for the new batch of 2024-26
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, organized Fresher’s Day for the new batch of 2024-26 for its Financial Management, Rural Management, Marketing Management, and Human Resource Management programmes respectively.
The Fresher’s Day celebrated on separate days for all programmes was a vibrant celebration aimed at welcoming students as they embarked on their new journey at the Institute. The event was graced by the presence of the Director, Assistant Director, Dean Academics, Heads of all four Programmes (HoPs), Faculty, Staff, and the entire student community of XISS.
The events began with the lighting of the lamp and welcome note from Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS where he emphasized on the institution’s core values and vision. He highlighted that XISS is more than just an academic institution-it is a place of values and belongingness. Dr Kujur stressed the importance of “freedom with responsibility” and encouraged students to build trust, strengthen relationships, and lead with resilience. Recognizing the diverse nature of the student community, he expressed appreciation for their eagerness to learn and grow, and reiterated the institutions commitment to nurture responsible leaders who will positively impact the society.
Meanwhile, Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS, welcomed the students in these events by underscoring the significance of aligning their attitude with the institution’s vision and mission. He stated that at XISS, we emphasize to serve as a guiding light, shaping the journey of students and helping them portray the values and ethos of the Institute in their professional and personal lives.
The celebrations included a series of fun and engaging events where students from both the years displayed an array of talents. Students prepared skits, sang songs and gave dance performances followed by various fun games building a camaraderie amongst everyone. The second-year students of all programs played crucial role in organizing and executing the Freshers’ Day event, ensuring a warm and enjoyable welcome for the new batch.
