XISS & NISM sign LoU to foster industry aligned partnerships

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi and National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) for three years on the campus on 10 May 2025. XISS and NISM aim to establish a dynamic platform for academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and skill enhancement. The partnership opens avenues for faculty development, student training programs, curriculum enrichment, and research initiatives across AICTE and UGC-approved institutions in India.

With this partnership in action, advanced educational resources and industry-aligned initiatives will be promoted while capacity building for students and faculty through specialized training programs will also be organised for the evolving demands of the global market.

The LoU was signed by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS and Mr Subhayu Das, Assistant General Manager, NISM in the presence of Dr Amar Eron Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS and Dr Bhaskar Bhowani, Head, Financial Management Programme, XISS.

NISM is an institution established by Securities and Exchange Board of India with the objective of capacity building in the securities market. Securities market is growing industry where there are ample opportunities for employment and self-employment. The students who wish to pursue their career in the financial market would largely benefit if they studied securities market subjects. Therefore, the objective of this LoU is to train the students in the securities markets subjects and help them to get the NISM certificates which will enhance their knowledge and employability.

Under this LoU, NISM will ensure certification and e-learning programs for the students. This collaboration will also enable the faculty of XISS to teach the NISM courses, where NISM will provide the input to the faculty.

NISM will also create a Portal or collaborate with a business and employment-focused social media platform to bring recruiters to XISS to offer placement support to the students passing NISM certifications. NISM will periodically conduct online Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) for the benefit of the faculty to enable them to understand the securities markets concepts and then teach it to their students.
