Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, celebrated International Women's Day in the Fr Michael Van den Bogaert SJ Auditorium on Saturday. The theme for this year's celebration was “Accelerate action for gender equality.”

Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, during the event thanked the female faculty and staff members of their contribution for the institute and said that this day is a reminder for all of us to respect women, help them regain their self-worth, and empower them so that they can protect their rights in true sense.

Faculty and staff members then expressed their views on the importance of the day and gave tehri best wishes to all women celebrating their perseverance and commitment. Later, a cake cutting ceremony took place where everyone joined in the revelry. Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean, Academics, Heads of all Programmes, Faculty Members, and Staff Members were present in the event.
