Students from several B-Schools competed at “MAXFEST- 3.0”
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, hosted an Inter B-School Competition “MAXFEST 3.0,” organized by the Marketing Management Programme and Markbuzzz, the Marketing Club of XISS, Ranchi, on the campus. Students from TISS Mumbai, St. Xavier's College, Amity University, and XISS, Ranchi participated in eight competitive events throughout the day.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp and a welcome note from Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, who warmly welcomed everyone. Dr Kujur emphasized the significance of the 4 Ps of marketing and their relevance in everyday life. He highlighted on the importance of such student-led initiatives and how it helps them to grow in their professional career. Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS, highlighted the role of marketing in the economy and praised the students for their creativity, persuasion, and negotiation skills. The event was also graced by the Heads of all four Programmes (HoPs), Faculty, and students of XISS.
Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, congratulated the students for turning their vision into reality and shared insights on how mastering the other three P’s can help them unlock their full potential in corporate careers. Dr Bhabani Prasad Mahapatra, Head, Marketing Management Programme, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and participants, appreciated the students' efforts in organizing the fest, and mentioned how such events provide opportunities to acquire new skills.
A Marketing Conclave was also organized which saw participation from industry, academia, and students. One of the themes of panel discussion was Marketing and Branding challenges in the MSME sector. The speakers for the industry academia panel discussion were Mr Anand Gothi, Mr Rahul Saboo, Mr Kunal Sharma, Dr Amar E. Tigga, and Mr Piyush Shrivastav. The other panel discussion comprised of student panel from four programmes of XISS and was based on the theme Ethics and Sustainability: The new imperative for business.
The XISS campus buzzed with excitement as competitive events unfolded. Rural La Carte was a live sales competition where students showcased their ability to sell rural products.The winners of this competition were Sakib Nasim, Yash Jain and Chandan Kumar and the runner up were – Atul Kaushik, Riya Gupta, Trishala Kumari. Case Clash challenged participants to solve real-world problems. The winners for this was Team “TissQuad” (Members- Lingraj Kalyan, Kailash Jayewar, Tanya Gangurde and Megha Panigrahi). The runner up was Team United (Members- Anjali Gupta, Satyam Kumar and Akshat Choudhary). Battle of Brands allowed students to promote brands in a fun and creative manner and the competition was won by Akash Kumar and Rishu Kumar, and the runner up were- Muskan Singh, Geetanjali Singh, Sneha Kumari and Priyanka Kumari. MarkQuizzz tested teams on their knowledge of various brands. The competition was won by Saikat Baroi, Samya Sadaf and Prashant Tripathi and runner up were- Priyanshu Mishra, Akshat Choudhary and Saurabh Kumar. The competitions Ad Selfie and Online Photography encouraged students to capture treasured moments for a chance to win prizes. The winner of Ad Selfie was Ritika Negi and runnerup was Smriti Xess, whereas the winner of Online Photography was Anirban Nandi. Participants also created entertaining advertisements in Mad Ads. The winners for Mad Ads was Team SPV (Members- Prakhar Anand, Gazal Agarwal and Vivek Kumar Shahi) and the runner up was Team Adsters (members- Rohit Kumar, Rituparna Dey and Nishu Kumari). Devil Follows competition, which was an ultimate test of trust and teamwork was won by Siddhant Marshell Dass, Atul Kaushik, Neelak Ghosh, and Kritik Bhaduri while the runner up were Chulbul Kumari, Khushboo Kujur, Simran Gupta, Shams Alamgir Khan, and Raj Nandini.
The event concluded with a vibrant flash mob performed by Marketing Management students. The fest was coordinated by faculty members of the programme, including Dr BP Mahapatra, Dr Pinaki Ghosh, Dr Pooja, and Dr Tina Murarka, along with the dedicated efforts of the student committee members.
