XISS celebrates the Christmas Spirit with carol, skit, and festive cheer

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, celebrated Christmas Gathering for its faculty, staff, and students spreading festive cheer across the campus. The gathering began with an inspiring speech by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, who emphasized saying that Christmas is a celebration of everyone and a time for fostering peace, justice, and reconciliation. He also shared insights into the Greek concepts of Kyrios (Lord), Koinonia (fellowship), and Kerygma (proclamation), encouraging everyone to embody these values.

Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, in his speech emphasized mindfulness towards the poor, gratitude as the mother of virtues, and light as a symbol of God's transformative presence while addressing the students.

During the event everyone present enjoyed the celebrations by exchanging gifts and singing melodious renditions of the season. The joyous celebration featured musical carols, a skit on the story of Christmas, group dance, andduet song performance all adding to the festive spirit of the evening. The event continued with a cake-cutting ceremonymarking the spirit of unity and togetherness. The celebrations concluded for the day with a bonfire and musical evening to mark the joyous occasion.
