On March 21, 2025, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between XISS, Ranchi, and Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL), a Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, GoI, which signifies the commitment of both organisations towards Corporate Social Responsibility, Industry-Academia Collaboration, and Capacity-Building Initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, XISS, and Mr Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman & Managing Director of HCL, in the presence of Mr Ghanshyam Sharma, Director (Finance) HCL, Mr Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Director (Operations), HCL, and Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS. Dr Bhaskar Bhowani, Professor, Dr Niranjan Sahoo, Professor, Dr Indrani Ghatak, Assistant Professor, and Dr Pooja, Assistant Professor, XISS and other senior executives from HCL were present during the MoU signing.

This five-year partnership underscores a shared commitment to foster academic-industry synergy, collaborative growth, innovation, and development. ​
