XISS students share insights of International Internship and Summer School Experience
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi and its Rural Management (RM) Programme organised an engaging experience-sharing session for its faculty and students featuring three students: Shashwat Kumar, Sanjivani Ray, and Ms Bhavya, who participated in the International Internship and Summer School programs from April to June 2024.
Dr Anant Kumar, Head, RM Programme, introduced the session by informing the students about XISS's exchange programs with the University of Antwerp, Belgium, and the new selection norms for the forthcoming academic session. The objective of the session was to provide the audience with insights into the students' learnings and experiences during their stay abroad.
Shashwat Kumar interned at 11.11.11, an NGO in Brussels, as an Officer in the Natural Resource Department, while Sanjivani Ray worked as a Research and Communications Intern at International Peace Information Service (IPIS). In Leuven, Bhavya attended classes on European Politics and Culture, while at the University of Antwerp, the theme of the course was Sustainable City.
These programs marked a significant milestone in their academic journey, offering valuable real-world understanding and cultural experiences in a global setting. They provided the opportunity to expand horizons, enhance skill sets, and cultivate a global perspective that will undoubtedly shape their future careers.
This experience sharing session was moderated by Smita Sarkar from the second year, which concluded with a Q&A round, followed by a Vote of Thanks proposed by Manav Raj, from the first year.
